Full Job Description

· To coordinate and support Youth Volunteers across our range of youth-led projects, helping them to:

o Plan and deliver weekly activities for their peers.

o Capture attendance rates and service user feedback

o Manage an budget effectively and make bookings for services and/or activities

o Schedule and coordinate quarterly youth board meetings

o Share resources and on-board participants to IAF's virtual safe space and i-Time events programme.

· Maintain and Manage IAF's discord platform, Our Space, ensuring young people across the charity are kept informed of upcoming events, activities and relevant opportunities.

· Lead and empower our Youth Board to meaningfully elevate youth voice and inform IAF's strategic and operational plans for the charity.

· Develop and maintain professional relationships and strategic partnerships with local partners such as colleges, training providers and other referral agencies.

· Develop positive working relationships with employers in the local area and encourage operational level linkages, such as work experience placements.

· To deliver projects in accordance with funding contract terms and conditions, and meet required outcomes/outputs.

· To support IAF's mentoring team by providing holistic support to young people facing a range of personal barriers such as poor mental health, unstable housing, addiction etc., · To follow IAF policies and procedures to enable activity to be delivered effectively within health, safety and legal guidelines.

· To ensure delivery and associated paperwork is correctly completed and compliant with legal requirements such as safeguarding, risk assessments, data protection, equal opportunities and employment law.

· To actively implement IAF's safeguarding policy and procedure to protect young people from harm.

· To uphold the quality of provision and integrity of the services delivered.

· To gather monitoring data and feedback across the charity as required.

· Maintain and manage accurate service user records, as required by IAF and external funding contracts, in line with GDPR and IAF's data protection policy.

· Track the journey of each young person ensuring case notes and tracking systems are updated correctly.

General:

· Help with coordinating and supervising a team of youth volunteers

· Uphold the charity values and be part of an engaged, proactive and unified working culture

· To present and promote an appropriate public image in representing the Foundation.

· To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the post.

· Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times

· Undertake relevant mandatory training in line with changing legislation

Terms and Conditions:

· This post carries a commitment of 40 hours per week.

· Expected working hours are 9am - 5pm.

· An enhanced DBS check will be required prior to commencing employment.

· You will be entitled to 25 days leave (excluding recognised bank holidays) pro-rata.

· The post holder is to be based at the IAF offices in Mansfield but will need to regularly travel across the county.

· The post holder will report directly to the Mentoring Manager.

As a Youth Activities Coordinator, you will empower young people aged 16-26 to take an active role in shaping the support IAF delivers. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with, supporting and engaging hard to reach young people through outreach activities and events programmes. This exciting and challenging role will suit a highly motivated, dynamic and creative individual who is passionate about helping young people to make positive change in their lives.,

  • Experience and/or knowledge of building positive relationships for youth engagements and referral partners within the local area.

  • Experience in engaging with young people in vulnerable situations.

  • Experience of delivering activities, life skills sessions and presentations to a range of youth audiences

  • Excellent presentation and communications skills

  • Ability to relate well to young people from a wide range of backgrounds, engaging them in activities and to relate sensitively and confidentially to the needs of young people.

  • Access to a car and to be able to drive to various locations within Nottinghamshire.

With a longstanding history of supporting our community, we've been on a mission to inspire young people and empower them to achieve their best through our 10 step theory of change. 64% of our service users progress into education, employment or training following our holistic support provision including the Prince's Trust Team programme, Talk mentoring, and Youth-led initiatives.
