Visual Arts Technician

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 30 hours per week

Working Pattern 8.00am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday inclusive) with a 30 Minute unpaid lunch break each day.

Weeks: 38 weeks per year term time + 2 additional days for compulsory training

Salary: Orbis pay scale 7-9 (£22,071 - £22,843 FTE). Actual pro rata salary Including paid

holiday entitlement (£15,296.90 - £15,831.96 per annum

Pension: Generous local government pension scheme from day 1 of employment

We have a vacancy for a positive, proactive, and confident person to join our busy Visual Arts Team. This is a varied role working within the Visual Arts faculty supporting a range of Arts subjects as well as Food Technology. Applicants should be organised, self-confident and possess excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills along with the ability to multitask within a demanding role. We are especially keen to interview candidates with experience of working within a school kitchen, with clay materials and have used a Kiln.

Kingsthorpe College is an oversubscribed 11-18 Academy with approximately 1450 students on roll (200 students Post 16). We were graded by Ofsted as Good in all areas in December 2019, and we are now looking forward to the next stage of our journey from good to great. In September 2021, we joined Orbis Education Trust, and this has unlocked further possibilities for colleagues to develop, progress, and make a significant contribution to inspiring the students within our schools.
