Full Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, this role will develop and maintain a robust, efficient and cost-effective supply chain which delivers quality product, on time, to specification. Focusing on suppliers of fabrication, bespoke components, and standard equipment across Zeeco's EMEA region, the role will promote smooth project execution and improve the supply of inbound material and services both proactively and reactively.
Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new suppliers and carrying out reviews/audits of supplier capability, capacity and competence, while assessing compliance and ethics, to maintain an approved vendor list.

  • Working with the project team to ensure selection of most appropriate vendors to meet project, quality, budget, schedule and other requirements.

  • Supporting the negotiation of contract terms, pricing, and delivery of project demands.

  • Post order vendor management - reporting on progress and expediting of contracts throughout the project life cycle, negotiating where changes are required and acting as a liaison between Zeeco's engineering teams and the supply base.

  • Establishing, maintaining, and reporting on supplier performance and associated KPIs, playing a lead role in supplier performance improvement & NCR cost recovery.

  • Ensure the department is well placed to meet the criteria of Major QMS certifications, including ISO 9001.

  • Ensuring safe working practices are maintained throughout the vendors manufacturing process and coordinating inspection activities with the Quality team.

  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process and vendor improvements.

  • Travel in the EMEA area to visit suppliers and potential suppliers - up to 50 - 70% of the week working away from the office.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in sourcing fabricated steel items and associated manufacturing operations. They will have a fabrication / procurement / supplier development background with good interpersonal skills that can be applied across a range of situations and cultures. They will also need:

  • Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes and materials, ideally covering:


  • o Structural steel work
    o Pipework and vessels and skids
    o Rotating equipment
    o Vessel manufacture - to ASME VIII, PD5500 etc.
    o PED & PE(S)R
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and knowledge of production planning.

  • Experience in the application of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and knowledge of HSE.

  • Contractual awareness, with great negotiation skills.

  • Experience of managing multiple projects, including preparing and maintaining schedules.

  • Understanding of root cause analysis methodology and demonstrable experience of leading / supporting problem resolution.

  • Experience in developing and implementing supplier validation criteria.

  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.

  • Organised with ability to accurately record & report on activity.

  • Self-motivated with ability to work remotely without direct supervision.

  • Confident user of MS Office software, including MS Project.

  • Able to drive, and willing and able to travel as required.
