Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation through teaching practical skills? Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Technology Teacher to join our experienced and committed team. The ability to teach through the medium of Welsh is desirable for this role, ensuring an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students.

Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is a Type B Bilingual School located near the town of Llandeilo, on the banks of the River Tywi and in the shadow of Dinefwr Castle. It is a school of 1142 pupils providing education for students from Year 7 - 13 as well as a specialized Autism unit for 42 pupils. Education is provided in a rural setting and on a new site with excellent learning resources. We are very proud to offer innovative education using our 'Natur' Outdoor Education Centre, which includes approximately half an acre of garden, an outdoor stage, polytunnels, a pond, along with various livestock. Our aim is to create an environment of achievement and inclusivity for every member of our community to excel in their learning journey.

We are eager to appoint a teacher who can develop and deliver interesting lesson plans that align with the curriculum and are suitable for diverse learning styles. The successful candidate will use innovative teaching methods to foster curiosity and creative thinking among students, providing constructive feedback and support to students to enhance their understanding and mastery of technological concepts.

As a forward-thinking department, collaboration with the team will be necessary to create diverse learning opportunities with a specific focus on developing an outdoor curriculum for students in years 7-9 in line with Curriculum for Wales requirements. There are a wide range of students opting for technology at GCSE level, choosing between Product Design, and Skillstart vocational courses in Metalwork and Woodwork. The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the GCSE and A Level curriculum, preparing students to meet the challenge of external assessments and achieve high standards of attainment.

The successful candidate will be required to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree, with expertise in the field of Technology.


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


  • experience of teaching Technology at the secondary school level up to A Level.
