Full Job Description

  • HGV Driver to transport waste for safe disposal.

  • Operation of Barcombe reception site and associated equipment

  • Strict Adherence to The Waste Regulations (England and Wales) 2011

  • Tank Cleaning which includes confined space entry

  • Co-ordinating service requirements and repair for the road tanker and associated equipment

    We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
    You'll take up this key position within our team to transport waste for safe disposal in line with regulations. You'll play an important part in keeping our water production sites running smoothly for our customers. You're flexible, self-motivated and a great team player. You hold a class 1 HGV licence and you're in good health and physically fit.
    Typical working hours are Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 15:30 and Friday 07:00 - 15:00 based at our Barcombe water treatment works in East Sussex. The majority of the runs will be in Kent and Sussex with some occasional travel to our other production sites across the South East. So, this is a role to fit around your lifestyle with and there's the potential to work additional overtime if desired.
    In addition to driving, you'll help operate the sludge treatment works so some basic mechanical or fault finding experience will be useful but we're happy to provide any training and support needed. Previous experience of waste legislation would also be beneficial. We'll help you to obtain the required qualifications so that you're compliant. This is an excellent opportunity to use you're proactive, reliable and safety conscious approach to contribute to the success of our team.,
  • Class 1 HGV driver's licence.

  • Physically fit for working in confined spaces.

  • Previous experience fault finding and problem solving mechanical plant and equipment useful but essential.

  • Highly organised individual with the ability to work under your own direction.

  • Flexible and adaptable in approach to respond to the needs of the team.
