Full Job Description

Derbyshire County Council (DCC) Corporate Services & Transformation (Property) are looking to appoint a full time suitably qualified & experience Building Surveyor to work within a small team of Building Surveyors undertaking Condition Surveys / Inspections / minor project briefs / building decommissioning within DCC current Asset Property portfolio. Also working closely with the Facilities and Asset Management Teams.
Reporting to the Principal Building Surveyor / Senior Surveyors on Building issues you will work under supervision in-line with agreed programmes of work throughout the property portfolio working in conjunction with other Building Surveyors.
The post holder will require good knowledge building surveying technics with knowledge of Statutory Compliance responsibilities etc.
Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite E.g. Excel, Word etc will be required to produce reports and management information as and when the Principal Building Surveyor requires.
The post holder will deal/communicate with other DCC staff along with outside agencies and general public during the course of their duties.
As the team are based County wide periodically the Building Surveyor will be required to attend meetings undertake surveys throughout Derbyshire so the post holder will require a full driving licence provision., This role currently offers hybrid working options which will be to subject service needs, there'll be an opportunity to discuss working arrangements for this position at interview.
