Full Job Description

We have a BRAND NEW Provision with a house of four wonderful tenants in central Yeovil, and we need Support Workers to assist them in their day to day lives.

St Jude's Care have a life changing opportunity waiting for dynamic, energetic, passionate, and caring individuals who may, or may not have thought about working with people who have learning disabilities before.

Full time position - 37.5 hours per week

Our tenants love to have fun, to be active, and pursue their interests as independently as possible. They need someone who will be sensitive to the unique challenges they face within a variety of settings, whether that is in their home, or out in the community.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to deliver person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities in their own home.

Requirements of the role (but not limited to):-

  • Promoting each tenant's independence

  • Prompting personal care and Medication

  • Assisting with shopping, cleaning, laundry, and cooking

  • Supporting with medical appointments

  • Encourage and support with days out and Community access

  • Encourage and support to maintain family/friend relationships

  • Encourage and support to maintain hobbies and interests

    + Previous experience working within the Care Industry or someone who is looking for a career change.

  • + Experience of working with Learning disabilities, including Autism
    + Are able to work alternate weekends, with 4-6 sleep ins per 4-week rota.
    + Must have the right to work in the UK.
    + Must have a good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively.
    + Must have an enhanced DBS or willingness to undertake one

  • Competitive pay rate £13 per hour

  • 37.5 hours per week contract

  • Full induction training

  • Refer a friend Bonus £250 subject to T&C
