Full Job Description

Reporting to the Head of IT you will be responsible for the relevant duties within the IT department for the lifecycle of IT assets. Maintaining records and databases containing information regarding licences, warranties, and service agreements for all hardware & software.

You will support the IT delivery function in the configuration and deployment of IT assets, managing stock levels and supporting related procurement and deployment activity.; holding a valid UK Drivers Licence is a requisite for this role as you will be required to travel during your working week.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a senior lead for the team, responding to all escalations when required

  • Promote teamwork, coach and guide team members

  • Promote, advise, mentor and lead in the adherence of department processes

  • May be involved in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of departmental standards, procedures and guidelines.

  • Lead in the development of good customer service practices


  • Hardware Support/Setup
  • Management, prioritisation and assignment of requests in the IT Hardware Queue

  • Managing stock levels, ordering of IT equipment to replenish stock levels to ensure availability for request fulfilment.

  • Build / provision of IT equipment for request fulfilment


  • Asset Management
  • Procurement/raising orders for assets and maintaining relationships with 3rd parties


  • Development Connectivity and Report Generation
  • Managing broadband accounts - procuring/amending/migrating/closing.

  • May need to liaise with Site Personnel to establish site readiness.

  • Running regular reports for management, summarising and interpreting data.


  • This role can is based at our Bournemouth Head Office, with the expectation that you will be required to travel to our sites.

    Do you have four years of extensive experience in providing IT Hardware support? A proven track record in building and deploying mobile devices and laptops and can competently configure and install switches, routers, and other IT equipment? Knowledge of IT hardware and software basics? Are you a technically competent and understand the care needed with sensitive information and legal compliance? If so, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for you to join our Information Technology team an IT Hardware Technician.,
  • Have at least 2 years' experience of configuring and installing Routers, Switches and Access Points

  • Be able to demonstrate the relevant practical skills required for this role

  • Be methodical and accurate.

  • ITIL v3/4 Foundation and MCP certification qualified (is desirable)

  • Be confident in interactions with colleagues in own team and elsewhere.

  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity.

  • Able to work for extended periods of time, with regular short breaks, with a computer screen.

  • Able to lift and carry equipment in a safe manner.
