Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a committed and highly motivated School Business Support Officer who will be responsible for the day to day running of our busy school office. Our school places the highest priority on building positive relationships between all members of our school community. The Business Support Officer is crucial to the success of this. You will need to be friendly, approachable and be passionate about working with children and their families.

Previous experience of working in a school office is essential. General duties include:

  • welcoming parents and visitors

  • dealing with telephone enquiries

  • maintaining the pupil database

  • following financial processes for ordering and invoicing

  • updating the school’s financial system

  • maintaining the school’s single central record

  • maintaining the school website and social media

  • using the school’s IT systems for maintaining school dinners, trips, income and online payments

  • communicating with parents

    5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths, Business and Administration qualification

  • Essential Experience
  • Experience of working in a school office

  • Experience of using School Management Information Systems

  • Experience of maintaining accurate financial records for the school and reconciling to the Authority's central accounting system

  • Experience of ensuring that all income is accounted for and banked

  • This position at present is 25 hours per week, 40 weeks. There is scope for flexibility in the way the hours are organised over the week. If the budget allows, these hours may increase over time. Please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
