About the role.
The purpose of the Record-To-Report (RTR) Team Leader is to lead the RTR team to manage and provide effective and efficient accounting, consolidation, closing, intercompany, reporting, and other related services in line with the relevant accounting standards and GAAP requirements. The person is also responsible for on ground adherence for SLAs and KPIs assisting Manager in key meetings, reviews, and relationship management.
The responsibilities include:
General Accounting and Reporting
- Works closely with Financial Controllers to develop a deep understanding of the business and the financial impact of accounting activities
- Manage data integrity and preparation of financial information to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness and accessibility
- Maintain accountability for the standard chart of accounts and preparation of account analysis /reconciliations on a timely basis
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by RTR Accountants to ensure accuracy,
- Review and analyse financial management reports for variances in financial data, investigating significant deviations from expected results and assisting in determining the cause
- Review proposed adjustments and reclassifications to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with policies
- Consults with Group teams on complex or new accounting requirements
- Prepare reports relating to financial statements, balance sheets, income statement, and cash flow statements
- Provide leadership in the creation and distribution of standard GL reports to corporate and business units
- Coordinate the periodic close of general ledger which includes maintaining the close
- Reviews period-close reports and ensures readiness for financial close
- Review reconciliations activities completed by RTR Accountants for approval
- Review period end reports prepared by RTR Accountants to ensure information is accurate and correctly recognised
- Assist in completing period end closing processes within the specified timelines, ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Oversee the reconciliation of various accounts in line with specified Bakkavor policies
- Undertakes analytical reviews of draft results, prepares initial commentary to support the financial results
- Undertakes the timely and accurate submission of finance results and trial balance information into Group teams for group consolidation and group reporting
- Ensures required weekly and month end financial reporting (incl. overhead reporting) are completed in line stated procedures and to a high standard
- Supports resolution any queries and issues as raised by Group and/or Site Finance teams
- Participates in post-close review discussion with key FSS and Finance stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and issues that require resolution
- Including review intercompany postings completed by RTR Accountants for accuracy and proper documentation
- Strong knowledge of financial systems and Finance processes
- Understanding of best practices and metrics for RTR
- Previous experience in working with Finance ERP systems, specifically with S/4 HANA preferred
- Professional Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Expert knowledge of UK adopted International Accounting Standards and relevant UK GAAP requirements, stays up to date on upcoming changes and supports planning and
