Full Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for a, to work with our client improving track access via our Track Access Solutions, providing efficiencies in productivity, safety and commercially additionally looking at access point utilisation and areas where access points can be installed to provide the client with access efficiency whilst carrying out works along the route.

The role holder will work alongside our client(s) consulting on how our services can benefit them and increase project productivity throughout the whole programme leaving a long-lasting legacy to the route maintainer.

Responsibilities for the Role

  • Provide expert knowledge of track access solutions and efficiencies they can provide.

  • Assess client's current methods of track access suggesting areas of improvement.

  • Meeting budgetary objectives, being always cost effective

  • Liaise when needed with Local Operations teams.

  • Track project improvements provided by our solutions

  • Ensure all access solutions are planned in line with NR standards and group policies

  • Manage internal and external stake holders and provide weekly updates.

  • Liaising with equipment manufacturers to providing training and equipment.

  • Support in the creation of project process for the implementation of tack access solutions

  • Support internal and external delivery teams with resource planning and allocation of staff

  • Conduct site visits with the client looking at locations where our solutions could support.

  • Managing project administration, including all documentation sent to the client.

  • Project evaluation measurements meetings will all stakeholder for lessons learnt.

  • Accurate and efficient order to invoice process against all required timescales.

  • Achieve as a minimum the objectives and KPI's set by the business and line manager, conduct open and honest discussions with line manager at monthly meetings on successes / improvements in the role.

  • Undertake industry training when required

    Previous experience in using the OnTrack system

  • Experience of planning infrastructure projects, in the rail industry.

  • Commercial awareness

  • Experience of working with project / programme management both internally and in a client organisation.

  • Practiced analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • NR / L / OHS / O Planning and delivering safe work Safety of people at work on or near the line

  • NR / L / OHS / O-IP Planning and delivering safe work Implementation principles for infrastructure Projects

  • NWR Possession Planning System (PPS)

  • NWR Green Zone Access Controller (GZAC)

  • PTS AC, DC certified endorsed with SSOWP

  • PPS Planner


  • Desirable
  • Previous experience with ZKLRC

  • Route knowledge of the East Coast Mainline (South)

  • Controller of Site Safety (COSS)

  • Engineering or Project Management Qualification
