Full Job Description

As a Process Technologist at Humdinger, you'll be at the forefront of our New Product Development (NPD) initiatives. Working closely with our NPD team, you'll lead the technical and operational aspects of bringing new products and existing product enhancements to life, from concept to customer delivery.

Your key area's of responsibility will be:

Managing Trials:

  • Lead technical and operational aspects of trials, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget.

  • Promote a "Right First Time" approach to factory trials and product launches.

  • Establish best practices and ensure consistent trial management.

  • Monitor trial success rates and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Coordinate post-trial evaluation and stakeholder reviews.


  • Factory Process Monitoring:

  • Conduct post-launch reviews and identify cost reduction opportunities.

  • Collaborate with departments to implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Work with Procurement on Product Improvement Plans (PIPs).


  • Customer Management:

  • Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate panels for customer approval and address documentation requirements.

  • Attend customer meetings as necessary.


  • Factory Documentation:

  • Develop documentation and templates for products, ensuring alignment with specifications and technical requirements.

  • Maintain accuracy of Recipe Professor data.

  • Generate customer quality and safety standards.

  • Manage label creation and uphold launch checklists.


  • Miscellaneous:

  • Support audit readiness and assist with various audits.

  • Coordinate sample requests and provide support to sister sites.

  • Attend job-specific meetings and webinars.

  • Organise cross-functional meetings related to the role.

    Substantial experience in manufacturing, preferably in Technical, Production, or Development roles, or relevant higher education.

  • Food technology qualifications are desirable, along with Food Safety Level 2 certification.

  • Knowledge of QA principles with a commitment to quality assurance excellence.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proven project coordination abilities, delivering results within agreed timelines.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, adept at managing time and multitasking.

  • High degree of numeracy and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean is desirable.

  • Experience with roasting/frying equipment is advantageous.

  • Health and Safety awareness is essential.

  • Self-starter with a drive for improvement, integrity, and professionalism.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, independently, and within a team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Adaptable to flexible work hours when attending factory trials.

  • Confident decision-maker with strong interpersonal and change management skills.
