Full Job Description

The Master Data Management (MDM) Manager role leads and manage the MDM team, delivering an efficient and effective data service within a fast-paced environment. The MDM Manager will be an integral part of the FSS leadership team, building strong working relationships with Global Process Owner's (GPO) to contribute to the future MDM strategy based on operational and delivery knowledge. The MDM Manager will manage reporting, perform quality checks, manage queries, and monitor performance metrics for the team in addition to identifying process improvements. This person is responsible for suggesting SLAs and KPIs and supporting the Head of Finance Shared Services (FSS) in key stakeholder meetings and engagement and performance reviews.
The scope of Master Data team includes creating and maintaining Finance, Customer, Vendor, Material and Product related data domains across the entire Bakkavor estate.
The responsibilities include:
Master Data Management

  • Oversee requests for creation, updates, or changes to master data


  • Approve / Reject updates or changes to master data (Finance, BOM, Part, customer and vendor) as required by the review process; including requests to create, change, extend, block/unblock, activate/deactivate, or otherwise modify master data


  • Works closely with Process GPOs in developing documented data standards for each data domain, monitors adherence to these standards and drives improvement in data quality and first-time right culture


  • Guide and liaise with MDM Associates /Systems Accountant to perform mass maintenance requests as needed


  • Support in creation of emergency items and resolving escalation / exception notices as needed


  • Liaise closely with data end users throughout the organisation as appropriate


  • Perform "logic" review to catch errors in defined data fields and escalate or remediate errors


  • Supporting Vision ERP data migration approach


  • Perform business review processes as appropriate


  • Query Resolution
  • Ensure disputes and queries are resolved on time


  • Manage complex or sensitive escalations from the MDM team


  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the immediate resolution


  • of problems as well as being responsive to future needs
    Audit
  • Continuously assessing internal controls environment within the PTP team, ensuring all


  • internal controls, policy and governance requirements are always adhered by all team
    members and creating a vigilant and risk mitigation culture within the team
  • Participate, assist, and coordinate in all internal & external audit related activities


  • People Management
  • Foster a culture of leadership within the team, mentoring team members, and


  • identifying potential leaders for future growth opportunities
  • Establish clear performance metrics such as SMART goals and KPIs to gauge the


  • team's performance effectively
    Communication and Change Management
  • Cultivate effective relationship management with key stakeholders and suppliers


  • Engage with the FSS Head to communicate MDM-related updates, progress, and challenges


  • Coordinate with other FSS managers to deliver quality, cost and productivity that meets or exceeds service level agreement specifications


  • Working with the GPO - manage changes related to MDM processes, system implementations, or organisational restructuring


  • Consult with MDM Team/Systems Accountant on identified process improvement opportunities and approve / reject


  • Performance Management
  • Working closely with the Head of FSS, process GPOs and business stakeholders to set


  • MDM key performance measures, monitors team performance against set measures on a regular basis and supports course correction activities where needed
  • Respond to customer feedback survey results on a timely basis


  • Working closely with the GPO/process excellence teams and MDM team to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities

    Significant experience leading and managing data teams with a track record of delivering an effective service to the business and improving data governance and data quality


  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and Finance processes


  • Understanding of best practices and metrics for MDM


  • Previous experience in working with Finance ERP systems, specifically with S/4 HANA preferred


  • Part-Qualified / Fully Qualified Professional Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)


  • Strong leadership, guiding the MDM team by setting clear goals, motivating team members, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
