Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure that contractual obligations are met on time and to budget, completion of the various packages of work during a time limited site period are achieved.
- Management of a multi-disciplinary team of engineering and commercial staff.
- The role will also heavily involve relationship development of the customer in question, with a view to increasing the GE order book.
- Take the lead role on the largest, current Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) within Marine Defence Service
- Be the primary point of contact with customer on all matters
- Managing the commercial, technical and quality issues
- Creating, maintaining and driving progress against a plan
- Ensuring that all Commercial Procedures are observed, and supporting the development of procedures and project management processes.
- Registering, compiling, submitting and negotiating extensions of time, extras to contract and other claims as appropriate
- Carrying out project reviews to control projects, check progress, manage cost, identify deviations from plan, detect risk and forecast future performance
- Please note that the role may require the management of additional scopes of work as required.
- Minimum HNC in relevant subject or equivalent knowledge or experience.
- Relevant level of experience in a Project Management, Commercial or Quantity Surveying role, appropriate to the position.
- Must have a successful track record in managing customers, significant commercial issues and similar projects/contracts.
- Able to critique a project from a financial view and carry out a thorough financial review
- A team player who is able to work with others and mentor others. Must be dedicated, show high sense of commitment and responsibility and be able to make decisions.
- Proactive nature is a key quality demanded
- Ability to achieve Security Clearance at least to basic level
- Must be willing and able to travel when required, for example to customer, supplier or job site locations.
