Full Job Description
- Apply the full range of acquired machining and manufacturing engineering skills to be competent to manufacture tooling and press parts to drawing and within tolerance.
- Use of hand power tools in workshops or on site, as appropriate to the job and specific training.
- Movement of materials both manually and with appropriate lifting aids.
- Undertake Machine Tool Training during the apprenticeship and ensuring site cleanliness during and upon completion of work.
- Learn and undertake associated skills to complement business requirements.
- Carry out any other appropriate task as instructed by a supervisor or manager.
- Comply with health and safety requirements, safety legislation and understand the effects of the legislation with regards to the work environment and particular vocation.
- Accurately and promptly maintain all documentation as required by Company procedures.
- To comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and procedures.
- To understand and comply with all other Company policies and procedures.
- To undertake a full range of Toolmaker duties and tasks competently and efficiently with such training and support as is appropriate.
- To attend college and complete course work on time and to a high standard.
- To produce, maintain and be responsible for content, accuracy and sign off logbooks.
- To progressively take on additional responsibility over the term of the apprenticeship commensurate with the expected level of skills acquisition and personal development.
- To understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
- To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
- To attend and fully participate regular training and development reviews with Training & Human Resources Management, Mentor and Training provider representatives.
- To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
You may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications., Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade C / 4) Essential - training
- qualifications, like an NVQ in a relevant field
- industry or sector experience
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade C / 4) Essential
BTEC or equivalent Engineering (Grade Pass) Essential
