LEAD TEACHING ASSISTANT

Salary - £26,421 (FTE)

Actual Salary - £19,637

32.5 hours, term time only

8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Commencing - September 2024

Are you passionate about supporting students with SEND to achieve their full potential? Do you have strong leadership skills and a positive, proactive approach?

Watling Academy is seeking a Lead Teaching Assistant to provide crucial support for our students with SEND. Working closely with the Deputy SENDCo/SENDCo, you'll provide vital assistance across all aspects of school life, ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

In this role, you'll actively engage with students, offering tailored support to help them thrive academically and socially. Leadership is key, as you'll provide support in mentoring and training other teaching assistants, contribute to departmental development plans and oversee administrative tasks like maintaining records and coordinating transitions. During exams, you'll assist in preparing and implementing specialist arrangements, ensuring all students have the support they need to succeed.

Watling Academy was judged as 'Outstanding' by OFSTED in May 2023 and is a purpose-built 11-18 secondary school in its fourth year of operation, located within the Whitehouse development on the western expansion area of Milton Keynes. The Academy will have 1800 students when at full capacity. Watling Academy is part of the Denbigh Alliance MAT.
