Full Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, in this role you will add value, strengthen and safeguard the Group by providing independent objective assurance through the provision of data analytics insights and training for GIA.
If you are passionate about Data Analytics and are looking to launch or relaunch your career then this is the role for you.
This position will have a clear development path within GIA and you will have the opportunity to study for the Internal Audit Practitioner (Level 4) apprenticeship.
In your day-to-day role, as an Internal Audit Analyst - Data, you will:

  • Identify relevant and applicable datasets and perform data collection, processing, cleaning, analysis, modelling and visualization of data.

  • Perform complex analytics on large data sets to provide insights on key risks and controls, e.g. identifying anomalies, trends, inconsistencies, or potential risks, including visualisation.

  • Identify data analytics use cases, automation of audit testing and develop techniques for recurring tests.

  • Define data requirements and data guidelines for Internal Audit.

  • Maintain a log of systems and data Internal Audit has access to and can perform testing on.

  • Support in the improvement of internal audit processes (reporting, planning, risk assessment, testing, etc.)

  • Support training and skill building of team members to develop/mature data analytics competencies

    Proficient understanding and application of data analysis

  • The ability to analyse large volumes of data including knowledge of or a desire to learn programming language (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python) as well as core analytical tools such as Excel.

  • Awareness of visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI)

  • Team spirit, self-motivation and a proactive and committed working style

  • Excellent analytical skills and mind set

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Embraces continuous learning and development
