Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Interdisciplinary Engineers at 422 Civil Engineer
Squadron, Royal Air Force Croughton, United Kingdom.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a professional engineer, performing design, project programming and construction
management/monitoring duties in support of a military installation. Also serve as the Installation Energy Manager for the installation, utilizing
knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical engineering and utility systems, energy consumption, and energy conservation principles and practices.
Utilizes Energy Management best practices and Asset Management principles to affect a reduction in energy usage in installation facilities through
energy audits and development of energy reducing solutions. Will perform planning and design work for substantial multi-phase new construction,
renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of engineering.
Manage an Installation Energy Program mandated to reduce overall energy consumption for existing facilities and utility systems, as well as new
construction, and/or renovation/improvement projects. Plans, programs, budgets, and executes required projects in support of assigned programs.
Provides consulting services and project coordination. Collect data and evaluates factors which affect the application of concepts, principles,
theories, and methods required to observe, examine, measure, analyze, map, and describe physical and technical features and phenomena. Complies
with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.

    Other significant facts pertaining to this position are, 1. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid UK driver's license CAT B
    is required for the position.

    2. May act as project liaison with Host Nation design agencies as required.

    3. May be required to serve on A&E selection boards.

    4. May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Force during exercises or in the event of an
    actual emergency.

    5. Employee is required to complete any training or certifications deemed necessary by management to
    successfully perform the functions of the position.
    6. May be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and
    skill set of the incumbent.

    1. The position requires the incumbent to possess a degree in a subject matter related field appropriate to the position (General
    Engineer/Architecture/Civil Engineer/Mechanical Engineer/Electrical Engineer) OR a combination of college level education and
    specialized work experience. (Please provide a copy of your certifications with your application)

    1. Professional knowledge of core background engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with architectural and other
    engineering disciplines.

    2. Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, techniques, materials and equipment to determine
    compliance with federal, state and local codes and regulations: of standard contracting regulations, practices and procedures as it relates to
    facilities engineering, knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations and/or
    technical orders; of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations and current legislative issues; of work classifications
    and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.

    3. Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions,
    and knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems and management.

    4. Knowledge of aesthetic and functional design techniques and skill in preparing project documentation, to include preliminary drawings,
    sketches and construction drawings; and technique/skill in drafting sufficient to convey design concepts and ideas and formulate working
    drawings.

    5. Ability to plan, conduct and record site/facilities surveys and inspection; to analyze, interpret and apply results, rules, regulations and
    procedures in a variety of situations and recommend timely and economical solutions.

    6. Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects; and communicate effectively both orally
    and in writing and maintain good working relationships.
