Full Job Description

As a Hygiene Team Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities within your team / department. You are responsible for the safety, engagement, welfare and performance of your team, whilst continuously ensuring the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) of your work area, quality and food safety and the quality of the products produced. You will lead your team through a given balanced scorecard of KPIs delivering objectives set by the business within the framework of the operation.,

  • Ensuring that all hygiene & cleaning related activity is delivered in full in a cost efficient & safe manner within prescribed budgetary control & best practice framework.

  • Ensure that all hygiene & cleaning activity is fully captured from a labour, quality & standards perspective ensuring all due diligence & compliance documentation is delivered in full to always guarantee 100% against audit scrutiny with all exceptions openly & honestly reported alongside detailed commentary.

  • Ensure robust training plans are always in place for the team to deliver the correct & safe Disassembly / Reassembly skills to the team to deliver a competency based turnkey operation, ensure that methodical & professional training against all CIC's delivered which includes an instructional & competency-based verification process guaranteeing that only trained & competent team members are assigned tasks aligned to that detailed training profile.

  • To deliver right first-time cleaning process against defined & trained parameters each & every shift in a methodical step by step process.

  • To follow cleaning schedules and cleaning tasks as directed by the Hygiene Manager ensuring that all exceptions are reported openly, honestly alongside detailed & defined commentary.

  • Chemical handling is always trained in a safe & professional manner ensuring that all team members are competently trained against all COSHH requirements before engaging within entering any manufacturing space or being engaged within any cleaning or Hygiene related tasking.

  • Successfully pass all core induction training modules within first quarter of employment and thereafter to maintain a minimum of 85% compliance against existing CPL required training modules.

  • To ensure all shift-by-shift reporting metrics are delivered within a timely & professional manner and published to all stakeholders as requiring those reports.

  • To maintain as a minimum a monthly internal hygiene audit against a defined audit schedule against a defined audit specification.

  • To take sole responsibility & be accountable for all shift reporting, metric recording & due diligence defence systems for the shift ensuring the team & wider business are not exposed to risk and that all governance as required is always delivered in a right first-time manner.

  • To ensure the team be fully trained & competency verified against at least 95% of all Hygiene CIC's & that a robust training matrix is always maintained accurately to demonstrate onward progression for team members & identify gaps within training plans and adjust to correct.

  • Daily delivery of shift reporting metrics within a defined DRM format, Email or written manner.

  • Adherence to all site technical policies ensuring your team is fully conversant with those protocols.

  • To maintain, publish & report all required daily hygiene KPI, DRM or other reporting metrics as required in a professional & timely manner.

  • To ensure the delivery of a formal whole team brief as a weekly task which is recorded/documented & utilised as a two-way communication/briefing vehicle.

  • To ensure accurate stock management of all consumables, chemicals & other hygiene related areas in a methodical manner against a defined MSQ's versus MOQ profile as communicated by the hygiene manager.

    Previous team management experience or suitably acknowledged supervisory experience.

  • HACCP training to level 3.

  • Relevant Food Safety training to level 3/recognised equivalent.

  • Open Plant Cleaning experience.

  • Microbial awareness especially against environmental parameters, humidity & yeasts/moulds.

  • BRC V9 awareness.

  • Previous hygiene experience managing & leading a hygiene team for 3 years or more within a confectionary environment.

  • Dry cleaning awareness/Chocolate manufacturing process/Water activity understanding.

  • Concise understanding & awareness of introducing innovation to a cleaning process where zero Aw is a pre-requisite.

  • Strong I.T skills with distinct bias towards Microsoft office product range.

    Shift Pattern: a rotating weekly shift pattern of 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, Monday to Friday.

    Salary: £33,742.80 per annum

    The onsite location for this role is at our Factory 'Hadley Park', in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, right in the heart of where our chocolates are made and where weekly, we can produce between 4 to 6 million of the chocolates we all know and love.

    Hadley Park is just 5 minutes off the A141 and 1.3 miles from Huntingdon train station, with direct rail links to London King's Cross.
