Full Job Description

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation services.

  • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to secure favorable terms and pricing for transportation services.

  • Develop transportation plans to optimize routes, modes of transportation, and shipment consolidation to minimize costs and improve efficiency.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials to the factory and finished products to warehouses and customers.

  • Evaluate existing transportation processes and identify opportunities for improvement to streamline operations and reduce transportation costs.

  • Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of transportation operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Identify potential risks and disruptions in transportation operations, such as global political events, weather-related delays or capacity constraints, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to transportation and logistics activities.

  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including planning, procurement, production, sales, and customer service, to align transportation activities with overall business objectives.

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide visibility into transportation operations and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

  • Integrate sustainability practices into transport operations by exploring initiatives such as alternative fuel options, backhauling and optimising routes to reduce emissions.

    Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCMP, CSCP) are a plus.

  • Proven experience in logistics and transportation management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
