Full Job Description

Kent County Council Adult Social Care and Health Directorate are seeking an experienced professional to assume the role of Head of Service to provide direction and establish priorities in all matters related to the Business Support function., This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

As Head of Service, you will:

  • be an experienced manager with strong leadership skills, driving and displaying professional standards and behaviour.

  • need to demonstrate expertise in managing and monitoring budgets, planning and adapting resources to ensure delivery of a flexible, consistent high quality and cost-effective service.

  • have a proven track record of developing and managing staff, including performance management for an outstanding business support service.

    Adult Social Care and Health commissions and provides a range of services to improve the outcomes for adults with needs for care and support and their families.
