Full Job Description

Forecasting / Budgeting / Performance

  • Co-ordinate completion of consolidated monthly PPV report, prepare analysis and communicate results.

  • Lead data collection process with procurement & plant finance for latest view forecasting and estimates.

  • Drive raw material standard costing process for budget by preparing global consolidated standard cost file. Prepare reports and analysis on impacts of changes with meaningful commentary.

  • Assess and collate productivity pipeline and OPEX for estimates & budget.

  • Productivity tracking and validation.

  • Provide inflationary summary & outlook for Operating reviews, Budget cycles, Strategic Plan and Investor Relations Teams.

  • Provide Material Price Fix analysis and lock status by Quarter.

  • Provide Procurement performance stories to the Investor Relations team, for use in investor communications.

  • Support Audit of External Manufacturing Partners and manage in collaboration with the controlling team free issued material inventory.

  • Attend procurement excellence forum and challenge assumptions around productivity project timeline & execution.

  • Perform financial validation of productivity projects.

  • Attend supplier negotiation calls and critically assess 'open book' costing models to identify areas of opportunity.

  • Review commercial agreements and provide advice for commercial negotiations including pricing and external manufacturing partners.

  • Support Procurement business cases including make vs. buy options.

  • Test business case assumptions and have the confidence to challenge Direct & External Procurement where those assumptions don't seem robust or where there are missed opportunities or risks.

  • Support VP Direct Procurement & External Manufacturing, Procurement Directors, Category Leads, Strategic Buyers as dedicated Financial Business Partner.

  • As the face of Finance to Procurement & External Manuafcturing Teams, connect business stakeholders with the appropriate people in Plant Finance Teams, GBS or wider Finance. The GBS RTR, PTP and OTC teams take care of all accounting operations. Control issues are managed by the BU Controller. The FBP is not responsible or accountable for solving accounting (or tax/treasury) issues, but does act as a conduit between the business, external authorities and wider finance team.

  • The FBP will provide direction on strategic goals, opportunities and risks as well as input on any other strategic or tactical initiatives.

  • The FBP will also provide assurance of the robustness of the AOP/forecast to the VP Finance GQO.

  • Using the standard financial reports and commentary provided by FP&A, tell the story of the Function performance and provide the "so what" to GQO and the business. The "so what" is how we translate the financial results into actions - what we need to do to close gaps and achieve our growth ambitions and other strategic objectives.

    As a senior representative in the GQO finance function with deep knowledge of the function, support our finance function to grow together by sharing knowledge.

  • Ability to develop effective relationships and maintain constructive communication across wide spectrum of internal stakeholders in a matrix environment.

  • Ability to see the "big picture", with attention to detail where necessary.

  • Analytical ability to assess complex business cases and commercial agreements.


  • Travel Requirements

    Position may require travel from time to time (maximum 15%) - visiting new suppliers, plants and external manufacturing partners.

    This is a new key dedicated role within the Global Quality & Operations (GQO) Finance team, an approximate $1B operation including capital expenditure with significant strategic ambitions, across a network of 8 plants world-wide. Acting as co-pilot to the VP of Direct Procurement and External Manufacturing, your key accountability is to partner with your business partner to drive performance outcomes against plans, forecasts, and strategic objectives. The Direct Procurement & External Manufacturing Team has an annual procurement budget of $370m. It is our single largest opportunity to drive productivity gains year on year within GQO. This is an individual contributor role, which may or may not have line manager responsibilities in the future and reports to the VP Finance GQO. You will be a trusted and relied upon partner, respected for your commercial acumen and your ability to provide succinct but powerful alanlysi and recommendations, with actionable insight.

    You will be the face of Finance for your business stakeholders, connecting them, where appropriate, with your finance colleagues within Plant Finance Teams, GBS or the wider Finance team to solve the problems that don't fall within the accountabilities of the FBP e.g., statutory accounting, tax and controlling activities. You will be an advocate for the Finance Service Delivery Model, helping your stakeholders understand the new ways of working in Finance.

    You will be a leader within the Finance organization, pro-actively sharing your business knowledge and commercial acumen with Plant Finance Teams and GBS FP&A team members to build enduring capability for our GQO Team.
