Full Job Description
- GCAP activities - to support the collaborative working activities such as technical proposals, studies and reviewing technical developments (e.g. processes and tools) from partners
- Working within a team to develop processes including evaluation of Software Engineering Tools
- Development of DO-178C compliant Software Engineering Processes and Standards including the specification of tools (e.g. meta-models, profiles and code generation)
- Working within a team to develop tools compliant with DO-330 (requirements, design, coding, verification and documentation)
A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience; preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering - The ability to work collaboratively within a large scale programme
- Experience of software development lifecycle and processes
- Software Development of applications (code, debugging and test)
- Software languages (e.g. C, C++, Java) and Object Oriented Programming
- Software Development Tools (e.g. Requirements, IDEs, Test and Configuration Management)
- Knowledge of Formal Software Development Lifecycle (such as DO178C)
- Developing real-time or embedded applications
- Agile Software Development
This is an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join GCAP Software Enterprise as part of a major national and international collaborative programme which is critical to the future UK defence. The GCAP Software Enterprise is developing a set of Processes, Tools and Infrastructure to support rapid software development and delivery across Airborne (Mission Systems, Vehicle Systems) and Ground Based (Training, Mission Planning, Engineering Support etc.) systems. - Company pension
