Full Job Description

Farm duties:

  • Driving tractor on hilly land,

  • Repairing fencing using post rammer when appropriate

  • Use of chain saw, circular saw, log splitter and wood processor to clear fallen timber especially when on fences or tracks and to provide wood supply for glampsite

  • Fertiliser spreading

  • Weedcontrol through topping and limited spraying

  • Chainharrowing and rolling

  • Fencing

  • Maintenance of water supply including repairs to pipes/troughs when needed

  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on farm equipment

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of farm buildings and equipment

  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment


  • Glampsite duties:
  • Perform all maintenance within glampsite to ensure it runs effectively and efficiently. Maintenance jobs to include (but not limited to) repairing canvas, fixing leaks, clearing drains, clearing gutters

  • Ground maintenance including leaf blowing off paths, weed-killing, strimming, mowing and topping the meadow

  • Pre and post season setup/take down ie work alongside Glampsite team to ensure glampsite is set up each spring for the season and closed down each November. To include (but not limited to) repairing road to glampsite, topping up paths with woodchip, repairing path edging, furniture removal, cleaning tent canvases, cleaning woodburning stove flues,

  • On guest changeover days, top up firewood, clear ash, remove rubbish, help move furniture as required eg additional chairs, cots, highchairs


  • Would suit someone with wildlife and conservation interest as the farm transitions towards regenerative farming.

    We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm & Estate Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks related to field management, glampsite and ground maintenance, and equipment maintenance. This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to perform heavy lifting and work with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment., Qualified to drive tractor and trailer

    - Qualified to use chainsaw

    - Qualified to use sprays to control weeds

    We are willing to pay for the successful individual to obtain the above qualifications
  • General mechanical skills for vehicle and plant maintenance including general knowledge of plumbing and electrical installations.

  • Knowledge of sheep an advantage.

  • Any building expertise hugely advantageous

  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating quantities

  • Proficiency in performing heavy lifting and physical labor

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

  • Ability to work alone when required and self motivate

  • Flexibility to work in various weather conditions

    Penhein is a 250 acre farm located in south Monmouthshire. There are 200 acres of pastureland which are predominantly grazed and 50 acres of woodland. Our goal is to adopt regenerative processes across the farm over the next 3 years and create 2 more diversification projects. In the centre of the farm is Penhein Glamping an award winning glampsite celebrating it's 10th anniversary in 2024.
