Full Job Description

The function of a DSE Operator is to oversee the arrangement of the packaging process of the product for the downstream equipment and maintain the production process so planned work continues in a safe and productive manner. You will be required to monitor the activity of the packing lines and palletiser robots and record deviations. Ensure all products packed adhere to specification. You will be required to record production statistics, monitor equipment operation, and record accurate information on a daily basis., You will be joining a dynamic, winning team, with a keen focus on delivering in the safest way possible. You will be responsible for the safe operation and troubleshooting of the facility's equipment and instruments. Close working relationships between the Steriliser Operator and other production functions are integral to the success of this role. You will become conversant with internal processes and structures such as IWS, MES and using SQCDME Key Performance Indicators as a measure of success. You must have the ability to work on your own initiative, have strong communication skills, be able to prioritise, solve technical and complex problems and be able to work nights and weekends.

The following qualifications/skills are required:

  • GCSE standard or equivalent

  • Be able to communicate in written and verbal English

  • Experience in working in food manufacturing environment

  • Have an awareness of food allergen and basic food hygiene

  • Working knowledge of IT systems such as MS Office


  • Desirable
  • FLT licence

  • HACCP trained

  • COSHH trained

  • Conversant with CIP (Clean In Place) processes

    Salary: Starting salary of £33,247.17 + Shift allowance of £2,952.69 per annum/ Benefits include pension, private healthcare, income protection etc.
