Full Job Description

Communications, which is part of Enterprise Services & Public Affairs (ESPA) and is responsible for enhancing and protecting Citi's reputation among internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will become a member of the small, nimble team within the Communications function that supports the firm's new Client organization during a pivotal moment for Citi as the company accelerates an operational and cultural transformation.

What you'll do

  • Primarily working with Citi's Research capability in Europe, which is an important component of the Client organisation and provides industry-leading independent research and analysis to clients; Helping to drive an integrated external and internal communications and social strategy that raises Research's visibility and strengthens its reputation

  • Build stakeholder support for other capabilities and activities that comprise the Client organization, including the firm's marketing and branding teams, its thought leadership institute, and client strategy and data capabilities

  • Pitch research to reporters, coordinate appearances and approve public appearance workflows; Draft media releases, media briefs, organizational announcements, initiative-specific communications and talking points

  • Monitor industry and business news, including on social media, to ensure that content is fresh, relevant and positioning Citi at the forefront of trends

  • Ensure effective communication cascades and channels that distribute targeted information at the franchise, business line and local team level

  • Write internal communication updates and messages as per the internal communications plan or to support franchise-wide activities as well as business line communication such as memos, newsletters, intranet articles and digital signage

  • Provide internal, external and social communications support for projects across the Client organization, including Citi's enterprise and business marketing efforts

  • Coordinate internal videos, town halls, fireside chats as and when required; Source, develop, and ensure relevance of content for various channels such as the external website and social media channels, The successful candidate will learn about all aspects of Citi's businesses and will join a team focused on a comprehensive communications and employee engagement strategy for a global organization. Delivering high-quality, meaningful content will be vital to influencing our audiences and stakeholders as well as building successful media relationships. The role will involve active engagement with a wide range of senior leaders from all aspects of the bank.

    Suitable, relevant experience in media, public relations or corporate communications (including internal and press) preferably gained from Banking and Financial Services industries

  • Exceptional digital communications skills, particularly social media and metrics analysis; Channel management and curation skills, particularly for digital platforms, and social media; Adept at organising podcasts and vlogs and in-person events such as press roundtables and townhalls

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations required or equivalent

  • A superb media relationship builder able to grow and maintain strong relationships internally, at all levels, of a large organisation; Excellent social media and campaign execution experience

  • Well-versed in partnering with creative teams to produce exceptional content; Experienced in communicating complex concepts in a meaningful way

  • Intellectually curious and demonstrates superior writing, editing and research skills

  • Excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Manage and deliver projects independently; Able to navigate a large and complex organization
