Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Endoscopist or Trainee Clinical Endoscopist to join our team within the endoscopy units at East Sussex Healthcare Hospitals. Both units are fully JAG accredited and are screening centres for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has been awarded funding for an 18-month fixed term contract to establish a polyp surveillance database and monitoring framework.

We are therefore seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic clinical endoscopist who wants to join our friendly teams to support the continued development of the endoscopy service across our three sites. Clinical endoscopists should be adept at lower and upper GI endoscopy procedures but we do have a very good record of training and recruitment of a trainee endoscopist will be considered.

Within this role you will be one of a team who are committed to improving the patient pathway to promote and deliver high standards of patient care, outcomes, experience, safety and quality.

The successful applicant will be a JAG accredited endoscopist with significant experience of undertaking independent endoscopy procedures or be willing to train to become a JAG accredited endoscopist. The role will require working unsupervised as an expert practitioner, performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
