Full Job Description

To share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of Residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes personal choice and independence.
To help in the care of the Residents' physical environment and in the general day-to-day activities of the home.
To take delegated responsibilities in charge of the Residents under your care, to the appropriate level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Read and write reports in Care Plans.
Assist Residents to dress, undress, to bath and to Toilet.
Help Residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence, help in the care and use of aids and personal equipment.
Help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of Residents through communication, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
To escort residents when necessary to hospital/Dentist appointments
Make and change beds, tidy rooms and do light cleaning and take pride in the home environment.
Inspect laundry, and assist with repairs of Residents' clothing where necessary.
Assist Residents at meal times
If required complete records of input/output.
Answer emergency bells, door bell and telephone, and greet visitors and report to Nurse in charge.
Take part in staff and Resident meetings and also in training activities as required.
Assist senior staff who have been assessed as competent with medication administration.
Maintain a high standard of hygiene to prevent cross infection as stipulated in the group's infection control procedures
To ensure that Linen trolleys and incontenance supplies are maintained with adequate stock levels during and at the end of your shift.
To ensure that all working areas are left clean and tidy after use ie. bathrooms / toilets etc.
To maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of care and management of the home.
To undergo staff training as required.
To perform any other such reasonable duties as required.
