Full Job Description

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Buyer within Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Working within a busy, forward thinking and progressive department, the post holder will be a key member of the team within the Procurement &
Supplies Department. The role will be to provide support to the Senior Buyers to ensure requisitions are progressed leading to goods and
services being received and delivered to the end users in a timely manner.
The successful post holder will be need to be well organised with good IT skills, have excellent communication skills and high level of customer services experience, To provide an effective and professional purchasing service that delivers on-going cost efficiencies and other value-added benefits in line with
customer objectives.
Provide procurement helpdesk support to promote proactive customer support by expediting, liaising with suppliers, providing customer
information and support delivery of a comprehensive purchasing catalogue that is used and promoted throughout the Trust.
Constructively and positively challenge all aspects of sourcing and purchasing within the divisions and highlight procurement opportunities to the
Finance & Performance Managers and Senior Buyers.
To be responsible for the implementation and management of the e procurement catalogues and continually monitor the system to ensure all
prices and information is correct and updated all the time striving for best price/ service.
To be accountable to the Head of Procurement & Supplies, with adherence to the Trust Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders., Applications will be transferred to TRAC system, by completing an application your are giving authorisation for the transfer of your data.

In submitting an application form, you authorise Kettering General Hospital (KGH) NHS Foundation Trust to confirm any previous NHS service details via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) process. Including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training record.
If you need to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as a requirement of the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£50) and this amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service as per Trust DBS Re-checking Policy which has an annual cost of £13. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.
Please note that news starters with KGH are subject to a six month probationary period.
