Full Job Description

Reporting to the Business Development Director, you'll take responsibility for the development of new business within Exemplar Health Care's growing family of homes.

We have an exciting and ambitious growth plan that aims to greatly expand our existing portfolio of homes over the coming years. We are therefore looking to further enhance our established business development function with the addition of this role.

This Business Development Manager role is a key leadership role where you'll have a real influence on business growth, working in partnership with internal and external key stakeholders. You'll work as part of a highly motivated, successful and driven team who are committed to driving the occupancy of our homes while ensuring our values are at the centre of everything we do., As a Business Development Manager with Exemplar Health Care, you'll:

  • uphold the company vision and drive the Exemplar Health Care strategy

  • ensure a continuous pipeline of referrals that will ensure occupancy budgets are achieved

  • raise our profile and promote our services with commissioners in ICBs and local authorities that fund the care of adults with complex needs

  • build relationships and opportunities with new funders

  • ensure local mechanisms for new referrals are fully understood by the business

  • work closely alongside our operational, finance, legal and clinical colleagues to ensure a smooth end to end occupancy management process is achieved

  • negotiate pricing changes with commissioners, where necessary, with our operational and finance teams

  • support and coach Registered Managers to engage with key customers, build relationships and market their service in order to deliver the highest possible levels of occupancy

  • maintain and update our CRM system (vtiger) to keep an up-to-date contact base and log of all customer engagement activities

  • gather insight into customer needs, customer expectations and satisfaction with the services being delivered

  • develop commissioners' understanding of our service offering and value proposition

  • ensure Exemplar Health Care is closely aligned to the needs and expectations of the marketplace.

  • You'll also have:
  • previous experience working with individuals with complex care needs

  • confidence with reporting and monitoring, and be IT literate

  • tenacity and positivity when engaging with NHS ICBs, ICS's, local authority commissioning teams, regional specialist NHS commissioning teams and hospital consultants and discharge teams

  • ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively managing and prioritising your diary to ensure optimum results are achieved

  • innovation and co-ordination in your ways of working, always striving to create new opportunities and build new relationships where appropriate

  • confidence in approach when representing Exemplar Health Care at internal, commissioner and contract meetings., Business development: 1 year (preferred)
