Full Job Description

  • Carrying out maintenance and inspections on aircraft avionic assemblies, components and avionics installations during scheduled servicing, maintenance, and upgrade

  • Ensuring that all maintenance complies with design specifications and meets the requirements laid down in the applicable technical publications

  • First and second signatories enabling you to carry out the role of a Technician

  • Post holder(s) will perform a range of maintenance tasks, including: strip, repair, modification and maintenance work i.e. removal, installation and functional test with appropriate levels of supervision.

  • Competent to work with approved data in the form of maintenance instruction and schedules for planned and un-planned tasks. Requires knowledge of approved data, able to read basic engineering drawings, clear own paperwork and deliver work ready for inspection. Demonstrates ability to follow diagnostic procedures and provide guidance to team members through O-J-T. May be authorised to self certify a specified range of complex tasks

    Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications

  • Aircraft platform type training (on a/c requirement) - educated to ONC level or equivalent military training

  • Maintenance experience working on typhoon or Fast jet

  • Knowledge of quality procedures, processes and specifications. MIL Depth Maintenance (MAOS MIL Pt145) experience


  • Desirable:
  • Typhoon Q

  • Experience of Depth Maintenance documentation (ESS/IMS and associated toolsets)

    The role will be based within TMF and involve working in conjunction with the RAF in performing the Maintenance, Repair, and Upgrade activities to meet the requirements of the UK Typhoon fleet as part of the TyTAN Managed Maintenance contracted service.


  • You will be working on cutting edge technology supporting the typhoon fleet around the world and working directly on the Aircraft alongside RAF.
