Job Description
Join the Automation & Control development team to program manage and help develop cutting edge solutions that are used in GE Power Conversion's range of Automation & Control products and systems.
In this role you will focus on:
- Coordinating all phases of software development from requirements definition, implementation, quality control and testing to product deployment with a multi-functional team.
- Writing and managing project documentation including project plans, requirements, design reviews, release documentation following the company's quality management system.
- Working closely with other teams within the company and adhering to industry standards to ensure products meet required standards and specifications.
- Creating management reports and charts in relation to project status and budget control.
- Leading sprints of small, self-motivated teams using agile methods, collaborating with Product Leadership to determine customer needs, and delivering them into next generation Automation and Control solutions on time at the correct quality level.
- Managing a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and engineers ensuring project delivery in a structured, efficient and timely manner.
- Tracking actions and project milestones, mitigating risks.
- A relevant degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software or Industrial Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent), or significant relevant experience gained in a professional engineering environment.
- In-depth understanding of Risk Management, Safety Management & Lean Management.
- Experience managing engineering project budgets over $500.000 (or equivalent value).
- Proven track record in program management following standard quality management systems.
- Experience using project planning using tools such as MS Project, including resource allocation, balancing and contingency planning.
- A certificate in Project Management, e.g. Prince2, PMP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading a multifunctional team to deliver a project, assigning and tracking tasks to deliver on time in an international engineering environment.
- Unrestricted Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
- Knowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle.
- JIRA / Agile work allocation and tracking.
- Familiarity with Confluence or a similar system for documentation.
- Experience with computer networks, Ethernet, LANs, TCP/IP and other protocols.
- Understanding of cyber security and its relevance to software development.
- Ability to create structured documentation suitable for Customer use.
- Knowledge of our Industry, products and platforms.
- Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and IEC62443.
