Full Job Description

As an apprentice, your natural abilities may include problem solving, teamwork and analytical thinking. A key part of the role will include interpersonal skills and confidence in picking up new skills and methods. CFP is part of the Challenger Group of companies who employ 70 people across 3 sites with a turnover of £12m

  • Assembling Hydraulic Power Units.

  • Testing Hydraulic Power Units.

  • Welding and fabrication of frameworks.

  • Painting Hydraulic Power Units.

  • Assembling Tyre Handlers.

  • Assisting with off Site installation, maintenance and fault finding.


  • The training you will be getting

    Engineering technician Level 3 - Mechatronics Maintenance Technician standard, delivered by Day release to college during term time., You will be given a mentor who will supervise your activities on the shop floor and help you develop welding, machining and fitting / assembly of complex hydraulic systems.

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)

  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) - Mechatronics Maintenance Technician

  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge), Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Presentation skills, Administrative skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Patience, Physical fitness, GCSE or equivalent 4 GCSE's including Maths and English (Grade A-C/9-4 grades) Essential
