What you will be doing
1 JOB PURPOSE
Support the product portfolio management of 800+ Alvita sku's across all markets with European brand manager (NPD and portfolio manager). Support the NPD pipeline process from a commercial perspective.
Support all product switches through the NPD pipeline.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILTIIES

  • Work with central sourcing team and all markets to help build a pro-active pipeline of viable NPD launches on a rolling 18-month basis: Engage with suppliers to understand products which may be of interest to the Alvita brand.

  • Bring proposals to the central Alvita VP so that category assessment can be done to identify the opportunity across markets.

  • Build up a specification that would be suitable across multiple markets where possible.

  • Prepare RFI's (Request for information) for NPD with local team input: Analyse Alvita competitors in market to understand competitor products, specifications e.g. pack count, size of product, units, claims on pack.

  • Match this with the sales data to determine best specification to go with for Alvita to gain most market share. Establish the critical features and usage of the product.

  • Understand the route to market e.g Pharmacy recommended, consumer demand driven, prescription/re-imbursed. Where are the competitor products merchandised and how - part of range, behind or in front of counter. Consider other associated lines.

  • Support switch proposals by evaluating proposed specification change and fit for purpose across markets.

  • Share the outputs of RFI's with other Alvita markets to gauge appetite and increase volume demand which will drive better achievement of MOQ's (minimum order quantities) and better COG's (cost of goods).

  • Discuss and agree multi-language or single language requirements and impact on sourcing and commercials.

  • Consider NPD for other channel considerations e.g. bulk/value packs for care homes or e-commerce.


  • Support the back office organization and file updating of all NPD pipeline, ensuring strong cross country and central communication.
    3.1 JOB HOLDERS SPECIFICATION
    Stakeholder management
  • Works across all Cencora markets where Alvita is present, establishing relationships with key local stakeholders. Some travel will be required for this role.

  • Additionally interfaces with 3 non-Cencora but Alvita markets.
  • Builds strong relationships with Alvita market commercial leads, category managers, BI analysts, Local Alphega & Alcura teams, Central marketing and brand.

    Self-starter

  • Sets own work agenda in line with key priorities aligned with European Brand Manager Alvita.

  • As there are few central systems must be able to work across the organisation to find all existing internal and external data sources which can support the Alvita growth agenda and provide insight.

  • Ability to work across markets and cultures.

  • Comfortable in the detail as well as communicating to multiple stakeholders.


  • Standard setting
  • Ensure we deliver good quality specified products that meet consumer needs.


  • Commercial
  • Use deep knowledge of consumer healthcare sales to drive maximum impact on commercial delivery through NPD., Extensive experience of consumer healthcare environment.

  • Background in Pharmacy, regulatory or Chemistry which demonstrates the knowledge required to specify different classes of products from OTC to medical device to cosmetic.

  • Experience in developing and executing RFI's.

  • Hands on and a people person.

  • Good commercial acumen.

  • Advanced English language capability to communicate efficiently across and above country.

  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization.

    3.3 TRAVEL / OFFICE WORKING

  • It is estimated that the role requires less than 15% travel.

  • Candidate would be expected to work from the Surrey office 2 - 3 days per week.
