Full Job Description

This is a exciting opportunity to take on an essential role in a thriving inclusive school in the heart of Mid Devon.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Deputy Head Inclusion, Assistant Head Student Welfare, Heads of Year, Subject Leaders and teachers to maximise the achievement and progress of students identified as at risk of exclusion.

This is a new role and it involves working under the guidance of the Deputy Head Inclusion to generate a tailored curriculum offer to include Outdoor Education to meet students' individual needs as informed by staff, students and parents.

You will contribute towards reducing repeat suspensions and the school's aim for all students to achieve their potential by accessing a broad and balanced curriculum. As an inclusive school with a strong pastoral system we put student welfare and sense of belonging at the forefront of the work we do. As an effective Alternative Provision Manager you will have a wealth of experience in working with students with a variety of needs, including but not limited to physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and emotional and behavioural disorders.

You will be able to liaise effectively with all stakeholders to create and implement individualised education plans for students.

Your working week will be 37 hours for 40 weeks per year which is term time and additional working across the school holidays. In return, you will receive a competitive salary and other benefits including a comprehensive staff wellbeing and benefits programme.

Tiverton High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any formal offer of employment will be subject to a number of pre-employment checks as part of the School's Safer Recruitment practice and in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. These include ID and Right to Work in the UK, satisfactory references, a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, and a satisfactory 3rd party online & social media search.

Tiverton High School is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from appropriately qualified persons regardless of gender, marital status, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, disability or age. If you have a disability and require any assistance with the application process, please contact HR@tiverton.devon.sch.uk
