Full Job Description

  • Dealing with purchase ledger coding/costing and posting purchase invoices once agreed to purchase orders

  • Reconciling supplier statements

  • Using Sage computerised accounts

  • Raising and resolving supplier queries in a timely manner

  • Chasing subcontractors for paperwork

  • Ad Hoc accounting/job analysis as required

  • Filing

  • Answering the telephone

  • General office administration duties for all companies within the group

  • Any other reasonable duties as and when required

    We are looking for someone who would like to develop into this role working throughout the company. We are looking for a keen and ambitious individual to join our team as an accounts apprentice. The successful candidate will carry out a variety of accounting duties including purchase ledger, invoicing and job analysis., Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Administrative skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Initiative, Confident, reliable & friendly, Ambitious, Willing to learn, Can do attitude


  • Things to consider

    Own transport is essential due to our rural location. Must also be able to travel to Boston College for face-to-face learning.

    The training you will be getting
  • You will attend Boston College fortnightly as well as study online materials during allotted time at work on alternating weeks

  • On successful completion of the apprenticeship you will achieve a Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
